Smack Talk Voice Phrase Sheet

This phrase sheet is a homework list. It is not a replacement for the in-game overlay. Smack Talk localization and balance patches rename lines. If Shift disagrees with a cell below, Shift wins. Use the sheet to practice off-client, then go back to voice commands for cadence rules.

Speak in the language of your client. English names below follow Steam news.

Core launch-era calls

• Fighter — Uppercut, Falling Chop, Take This, Meteor Palm, Dragon Fists, stunning palm. Power phrase example: Time to finish this, then Meteor Palm. Emotes: Wax on Wax off, To go even further beyond (hitbox).
• Samurai — Slash, Water Wheel, Flowing Koi. Some honor emotes deal damage.
• Wolf — Blood Pursuit, Rip and Tear, Wolf Claw, Easy Prey.
• Magical Girl — Starlight Blast, Glitter Wand Smash, Lunar Ascension, Charm Lash, Magical at your service. Heart emote has a hitbox.
• Gorilla — Gorilla Leap, Spirit of Gorilla, Ground Pound, Mega Monkey Madness / Return to monkey.
• Frog Wizard — Tongue Tangle Twist, Drizzle Frazzle Bubble Dazzle, Levitation Flotation, Fireball. Tongue-twisters on purpose.
• Bug — Pogo Bounce / bug-mount recovery.
• Cop — Get Down, Stop Resisting, Suspect Fleeing, Hands Up.
• Doctor — Reflex Check, Take Your Meds, This Might Sting (needle, can pierce floors), Patient Discharge, Glove Up, Lobotomy Time. Some taunts deal damage while you move.

Trailer leftovers you will still hear in lobbies: Fireball, Water Wheel, Easy Prey, Magical Girl at your service, banana / monkey madness jokes from Gorilla-adjacent clips. Do not invent extra adjectives in the middle of a listed line.

Kitchen, guns, and community kits

• Chef — Chop Chop, You’re Cooked, Mom’s Spaghetti, Eat Up, Sushi Train. Lid is a prop, not a phrase. Full context: Chef.
• Cowboy — Quick Draw, Buck Shot, Your Time Is Up, yeehaw-style recovery, ledge “catch this” shots in official clips. Full context: Cowboy.
• Diver — Get Over Here, Torpedo Volley, Dropping Anchor, Fish Slap, manta platforms (action, not a sentence). Full context: Diver.
• Duck — Quack, Duck Duck Goose, plus the repeated-phrase three-piece. Cadence is the bind. See combos.
• Pigeon — Gobble Gobble, Coo Coo, Peck Peck, Flap Flap (Caw Caw renamed), Bird Game 3 (move-during-it edge-guard).
• Santa — Happy Christmas, Rudolph, Surprise Gift, Cookies and Milk, You’ve Been Naughty, holiday ultimate.
• Business Man — Stocks Up, Market Crash, Pleasure Doing Business, Get a Job / tax jokes from the reveal.
• Alien — Activating Wormhole, I Come in Peace, Are Your Photos Printed, Probing Subject, Emergency Landing, Bogos Binted (emote).
• Pirate — Arr Me Matey, Hand Over Your Booty, That Be the Kraken, Prepare Yourself Scally Wag.
• Fish — Check Out My Muscles, Snap Out of It, fish emote.
• Fast Food Worker — Supersize It, No Free Refills.
• Macho Man — Take a Seat, Get Out of Here, You Can’t See Me (emote).
• Barn — Animal-sound kit, Baa Haha (emote). Check overlay; this one is intentionally not English sentences.
• Teacher — Detention-zone ultimate (confirm wording on Shift).
• Cat / Rat — Overlay-first. Community duo; names were not fully itemized in the Steam post.
• Power Ranger / Kaiju — 1.0 overlays. Learn in-game, then come back when notes exist. Version 1.0.

Practice protocol

Print or split-screen the two fighters you actually play. Say each line five times sitting still, five times walking, five times jumping backward. That last pass is the recovery exam from controls. If a line fails only while jumping, you are clipping the mic or swallowing the first syllable.

Do not load seventeen rows into your head. Two kits, as beginner picks already said. When a patch lands, search your rows in patch notes and update your muscle memory, not this page’s ego.

If nothing in the sheet fires, the sheet is not wrong — the device is. Immediate detour: mic setup. Then return, hold Shift, and play a four-player room like how to play describes.

How to annotate your own copy

Keep a text file with two headings: Main and Secondary. Under each, paste only the overlay lines you actually use, then one note: “recovery while falling,” “ledge only,” “never at 0%.” That personal sheet should be shorter than this page. This page is the catalog. Yours is the loadout.

When a patch renames Mom’s Spaghetti or Flap Flap, change the loadout the same night. Do not wait for the wiki if Shift already moved. Then, if you want, send the new string to Discord so patch notes and this sheet can catch up. The recognizer does not subscribe to our deploy hook.

Read lines out loud in the same posture you play: headset on, Discord push-to-talk off, game focused. Reading at a desk without the client trains the wrong muscle. The sheet is a script. The stage is the shoot.
