What Smack Talk actually is

Smack Talk grassy arena with a gorilla, a ninja, and a blast of yellow knockback effects

Smack Talk is a 1–8 player online platform fighter from Monchii Studio where you move like Smash and attack by speaking. Call a phrase into the mic, land the hit, then finish with a one-liner ultimate. The 1.0 build ships 27 fighters and 10 stages plus variants. Start with the getting started guide, then open voice commands and the character tier list.

First night checklist

Mic, movement, and a fighter that actually works in a lobby.

  1. 1

Buy it and grant the mic

Install from Steam, then allow microphone access on Windows, macOS, or native Linux Steam. The mic setup tool covers permissions, lobby bugs, and Snap/Flatpak traps.

  2. 2

    Learn movement before phrases

WASD, jump, fast-fall, and recoveries still decide stocks. Read controls and the how to play loop before you try to shout an ultimate.

  3. 3

Hold Shift and pick a loud fighter

Shift lists that character's spoken moves. Start on Chef, Cowboy, or another beginner pick from the beginner tier list instead of a whisper-quiet kit.

  4. 4

    Practice one-liners, then host

Use the voice phrase sheet in training, then host with stock and team settings from how to win. Public lobbies live in the in-game browser.

  5. 5

    Track 1.0 and later patches

Power Ranger, Kaiju, and the city stage landed with version 1.0. Balance notes stay on the patch history.

A Steam platform fighter where movement is standard and attacks fire when you speak a phrase. It left Early Access with version 1.0 on 27 August 2026.

Who should I play first?

Is this wiki official?

No. It is a fan resource. Confirm patches on Steam news and the community links Discord.

Ready to win with your voice?
